Your Motives Matter

As you continue to grow and evolve your character plays a major role in your elevation. What are your intentions behind doing and saying certain things?
The bible mentions if you killed someone but didn’t mean to do it, you can run to a safe life that I have set a side. But if you plan in advance to murder someone one there is no escape. That is pretty much how it is in today’s times, you can go to jail with the intent to deliver an illegal substance even though you did not technically deliver anything to anyone, you can still face time behind bars just because that is what you planned to do even though it did not happen.
You see your motives matter and carry a lot of weight. It’s the same way with God, He looks at your intentions and your secret thoughts. God looks at what’s inside your heart. Your heart has to be pure and your motives have to be pure in order for God to be able to use you. Even if things did not turn out as you planned if you’re doing whatever it is that your doing for the right reason then it’s a success in God’s eyes and he will always work it out in your favor.
For example If you’re starting a business strictly for the money you already lost. Money does not make a good foundation for anything. It makes you desperate and take anything that’s available to you. God did not call us to be desperate but to excellence. And anything that is tied to excellence does not happen over night and is not done strictly because you need the money.
Here are three tips to help you develop pure motives:
Ask yourself what is the reason why your doing what your doing?
Pray and ask God to give you a pure heart and the right motives.
Be led by the Holy Spirit before taking action on something.
