Today I will be speaking from the book of Exodus. Specifically looking at the story of Moses and his encounter with God at the burning bush. If you have not read the story of Moses I encourage you to do so. But if not here is a quick recap. God choose Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery from the Egyptians. And Moses replied to God saying” but who am I?” basically saying God I’m a nobody why would anyone listen to me?
Moses had every excuse as to why he was not capable of leading his people out of Egypt. Moses even mentioned that he was not a very good speaker and slow at speaking. God replied “who makes people able to speak, not speak, deaf, and blind?”
How many times have we doubted and second guessed ourselves and God’s ability to bring us through on the other side?
God replied: "Just go! When you speak I will be with you and give you the words to say.” You see many of us are praying and asking God for direction but not taking the first step. God will direct your steps but you have to be willing to first take a step. Do not get intimated by your own dream, God is always with you. Actually the bigger the dream is usually a sign that it’s a God given dream because it confirms our dependence on God to be able to execute the vision.
Here are three tips that will help you overcome doubt and second guess God’s will for your life:
If you can see it in your thoughts, you have to start to become it in your life.
Stop asking God "how" that’s not your concern. You have to be willing to take the first step and God will meet us right where we are.
God cannot fully use you if you have one foot in with him and one foot still in the world it’s all or nothing!
