As we continue on the journey of elevation I wanted to finish the story about Joseph. I mentioned last week that Joseph was speaking about his dreams too early to his brothers and they ended up selling him as a slave. (Read my last post Keep it to yourself)
Later Joseph ends up going to prison and eventually becoming overseer of the Kings house and over all the land of Egypt and when the famine came guess who the brothers had to go through to find more food? Joseph. Joseph of course did not tell them right away that he was their brother who they sold as a slave but eventually Joseph said do you not recognize me? It is me Joseph.
Joseph said to his brothers that God had to send me ahead to save you! And I’m asking you, Is God sending you ahead to save your families? And if you're reading this the answer is YES! It’s you that God has chosen to break the generational ties, and to be the example to save your families, and your children, and your children’s children. All of the trials and the tribulations that you have encountered is not for nothing. You are still here for a reason. You are going through all of this for a reason. God has his hand on you and has been with you every step of the way. Bu now he is asking you to trust him with your life. He did not bring you this far to leave you. Yes, it may feel lonely, yes you may feel like it was much easier to live your old life and to hang in those same environments because you were comfortable because it was easy. But God is not calling us to easy he is calling us to Greatness.
God is saying If you trust me and cling on to me like never before I can show you a life so beautiful I can show you why I created you and why I had to choose you. I am not going to just save you but I’m going to save everyone that is connected to you. Stay with me I got you.
Here are three tips to help you cling to God:
This kind of life takes Sacrifice-You have to sacrifice your old life for a life that is pleasing to God. We are not here to please our flesh but live a life that is pleasing to God.
It takes obedience- You have to be obedient to what God is telling you to do. And be still when he is not telling you to move.
Discipline- You have to train your mind to think Godly not earthly. (“Set your minds on things above, not earthly things” Colossians 3:2)
