"For many are called, but few are chosen." (Matthew 22:14)
I know growing up reading this scripture I believed that God only chose a select few people to manifest his will on earth. And of course I was wrong. As my walk continued to grow with God I learned that it’s actually the complete opposite. You see we all are called but only few are actually willing to give up their own life to live the life that God created for them. Not everyone is willing to sacrifice their own life and who they think they are to become the person who God has called them to be. When God chooses you and sets you a part there are a new set of standards that you have to live by. You no longer look like the world but you are transformed by the renewing of your mind. You are the light in the dark. Many of us want God to choose us, asking God to “show me my purpose; use me” but not willing to live by the standard that he set afterwards.
In order to be used by God it’s going to cost you something. God does not have favorites. He searches the earth looking not for a perfect person but looking for someone to say YES! I’ll do it. I’ll be obedient to your will and live a life thats pleasing to you and not of people. Before God can use you, he has to be able to mold you and prepare you. It’s a process. I remember going through a season where I didn’t talk to anyone or go anywhere it was just me and God. I was going to bible study and studying his word. He was preparing me so he can send me out in the world to be able to share these stories with you. So don't reject your process. How can you lead people to recovery if you never been through it? It’s not easy living the life thats connected to knowing who you are but it’s most definitely worth it. As you continue to grow and evolve spiritually and become more aware of the person who God has called you to be you have to start becoming that person. You probably don’t need to hear another word or read another scripture you have to start taking action and applying the word to your life. In order to receive all that God has for you it’s important that you are alignment with his word. It’s the word of God that matures you, that makes you wise, and knowledgable.
Here are three tips that will help you live by the standards of God’s choosen people:
1. Discipline. Train yourself to live a life thats pleasing to God. Start applying the word of God to your life. Make it a life style. Not just on Sundays.
2. Be intentional about spending time with God. Get rid of anything thats blocking you from spending time with God. Your asking God to use you, send you a blessing, and show you your purpose but you can't recognize his voice.
3. Create a routine that incorporates spending time with God, especially in the morning. Get in the habit of starting each day with asking God for direction. God reveals himself to people who
are desperate for his word. When was the last time you were thirsty for God’s word?
