For many years I questioned how to walk by faith and I found that walking by faith is walking in the Holy Spirit. Having faith is a lifestyle and you walk in it daily. Once you develop your own relationship with God he will renew your heart and your mind. As a believer it is important to develop the mindset of knowing that God is your protector, provider, and will always remain in control allowing him to open and close your doors.
Walking by faith is submitting your life to God and living the life that God has for you. Many times we fear giving up our own life and walking into the unknown because we don’t know what will happen on the other side or simply because there is a misconception that you have to be without sin for you to totally submit your life to God which is certainly a myth. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t need faith if God told us every little detail of our life from beginning to end. Faith is not knowing how it’s going to happen but knowing that God is in total control, trusting him that he will make a way even though we may not see one. If you are on the edge or hesitant about totally giving your life up to God let me share something with you once I gave my life to Christ, my whole life changed for the better.
Just like any other habit or muscle you have to develop it and train it. The more you develop your faith the stronger your faith will become. Many times our faith is developed through trials and tribulations. I’ve learned that God will allow things to happen in our life so that we know that it was him and him alone. As you are going through your storm you have to remember that God is always in control and if he brought you to it he will bring you through it. And once you past those test your faith will get strengthened.
Here are four tips that will help you to walk by faith:
Live moment by moment. You want to get to a place in your walk with God where you don’t make a move without bringing it to God first. Let him lead and guide you.
Be dependent. Be thirsty to hear a word from God. Sit before him and don’t move until you have a clear answer.
Become sensitive to his voice. You have to be able to recognize his voice. You get familiar with God’s voice by spending time with him and reading your word.
Be obedient. Once you receive a word from God listen and take action.
